As transfers go, this one went through surprisingly quickly - so what do we know about it?

1. Mourinho apparently identified Cucurella as a player he specifically wanted.
2. Chelsea were already in talks with Athletico Madrid to transfer the player.
3. Athletico didn't want to pay more than €50m which was the sticking point.
4. Real Madrid moved with some speed to try and secure Cucurella's transfer.
5. Chelsea were asking for €70m, but accepted Real's offer of €55m + €5m.
6. From Real first making contact, the deal was agreed in less than 24 hours.
7. Chelsea were always happy to sell if they got the kind of price they wanted.

What we don't know is the exact reason or reasons that Chelsea were happy to sell.
