I guess there is an argument that younger players don't have the same sentimental sense of the enclosed space that gave the place its special USP, and before long people will wonder what the fuss was about.

But then again, there's a good chance China and Saudi Arabia will become unavailable as alternative choices during the 2030s, so...

Glad they have finally decided to upgrade the crucible considering no doubt the demand to get more than a 1000 in the UK considering the venues they do in china like 5000 and more

Ronnie is jammy, getting a tie with an out of form, out pf practice Stephen Hendry. Hendry got one frame with breaks of 30 and 61, but apart from that it was all Ronnie, with Hendry making several unforced errors and missing the easiest of pots.

Ronnie whitewashed Higgins tonight. We'll see if this returns next April.
