Moeen Ali has signed a T20 Blast contract with Yorkshire after retiring from domestic cricket last year. His close friend Adil Rashid has not featured in the Blast for the last 2 seasons, hopefully the spin twins will take to the field again.
Yorkshire look to me pushing to improve their poor T20 record with a number of players leaving & some interesting recruitments.

County Championship starts today.

Good effort from Worcestershire to save a draw against Derbyshire in the end after following on. They battled hard and got their just rewards.

Yay. A win for Worcestershire by 57 runs over Middlesex at Lord's .

Been some years since Worcestershire last won it

It's been a poor start for Yorkshire in the Championship. Lucky to draw against newly promoted Glamorgan with 2 sessions lost to rain. Well beaten by Hampshire & then a battling draw on a flat Headingley pitch against Sussex.

After losing a vital toss at Taunton on a pitch so green it was hardly distinguishable from the outfield they were dismissed for 162 & conceded a 112 run deficit on first innings. With the pitch calming a Root & Wharton stand Yorkshire gave Yorkshire a slim lead. Root was untroubled & it was a surprise when Craig Overton forced a mistake. A ball change brought about 3 wickets for 14 runs as the lead crept past 100.. Hill & Bess made useful contributions & Jhye Richardson reach a half century before he was dismissed early on day 4 to set a comfortable target of 260 at around 3 runs per over,
Three quick wickets gave Yorkshire hope with some tight bowling as hill broke through twice, Bess was into the attack early against his native county with the key wickets of James Rew & Abell.
Somerset still looked on target at 136-4 until Bess dismissed first innings centurion Thomas. By this point it was double spin & Root got in on the action with 2 wicket before tea & 2 after on consecutive balls.
From nowhere Yorkshire where closing in on victory, but the final twist was the threat of rain. Thankfully & fittingly Bess bowled last man Ogborne to complete a 75 run victory which had looked out of the question until for almost the whole match.

Lancs 3rd after 4 matches - Middx and then Worcs up next.
