NFL 2025-2026 season

I just had a thought - there can't be be that many NFL teams left who haven't either been to the Super Bowl or won their first. After having the Chiefs dominate the SB for last couple of years it is nice to have a new name on the trophy - even it is the Seahawks' second win. Many congrats to them but I would think the second half finally saw the Seahawks open up that N0.1 defensive team. The draft for next season probably will be interesting.

A complete defensive performance by the Seahawks. Kenneth Walker III was the MVP for an impressive 135 yards from 27 carries which took the strain off Darnold, but the real MVP was the Seattle defence with the Special Teams unit a close 2nd.
Drake Maye is ahead of the curve as an NFL QB, there had been signs during the playoffs of what was to come as he struggled against the better opponents. The Pats have enjoyed the easiest schedule in NFL history.
As has been the case through the playoffs the Pats defence just about kept them in the game limiting the Seahawks to field goals they were 1/4 in the Red Zone. By half time with Seattle scoring a late field goal to make it 9-0 both QB's were only completing about 50% of their passes.
Another Seahawks field goal in the 3rd quarter was followed by the games first TD early in the 4th to make it 19-0. Talk of a shutout was short-lived as the Pats responded quickly with a TD of their own. Any hope of a comeback after Maye threw a reckless interception & then a fumble which was later altered to an interception that was returned for a TD. A late Pats TD was all too late & it made me wonder if they'd tried to take a few more shots in the first half.
We might have to wait a little longer for another Pats dynasty, but they have come a long way in a short time, it will be interesting to see how the fare with a tougher schedule next season.
The Seahawks & Darnold for that matter are the real deal, they will have to adjust to a new OC when Kubiak depart for Vegas.
Opponents will have to come up with plans on how best to score against the rampant Seahawks defence Maye was sacked 6 times sometimes it was blitzing from various positions other times it was down to great coverage by the secondary.
It was all a bit too much for Maye but I'm not sure who else could've coped with the onslaught. Maybe a gunslinger like Josh Allen could've gone toe to toe.
Not the close game we had all hoped for but any fan of defensive play would've enjoyed the spectacle.
All in all this was still the best season I can remember & I can't wait for another with those 10 Head Coaching changes there are a lot of unknowns.

Wasn't the greatest spectacle from pure entertainment that would enthrall the many casuals watching as there one game a year but I did love and appreciate the defensive performances from both teams it has to be said In the 1st Half especially when despite Mayes struggles to move the ball at all the Seahawks were having almost as tough a time themselves.

2nd half they made the adjustments better and quicker than the Patriots could respond and once it went to 19-0 it was game over really.

Still as said above this was a truly fascinating season on the whole and the best in my now 26+ years of watching the league

And next season should be just as unpredictable, the Patriots could just as easily fall back to 9/10 wins with the much tougher schedule and I'd be surprised to see them in the big game next season.

Seattle should remain around the top of the NFC if that defense remains intact but that Divison remains brutal for them.

Still let's see how the off-season and draft pan out before making any wild predictions for next season

Big off-season for my Dolphins with the coaching change and lots of questions over the status of a few players namely Tua and Hill to remain sorted.

A controlled, solid and some might say a stifling display from Seattle, which in my opinion was the way they had to play, the way they were always going to play. New England's offense had probably been in the top two or three in the entire league and it had to be shut down if Seattle were going to win.

For all the talk about star quarterbacks and offensive lines, I love watching a good, solid defensive line at work. I think we've seen plenty of evidence of those capabilities throughout the season - and I think it's made for an open and exciting league.

Patriots top picks for next year need to be a couple of guards. Maye needs better protection or his career won't last long.

^I would agree Charle as I think he probably needs to be better protected while he develops as the hits he takes will likely become harder next season.
