2026 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS START TONIGHT!!!!!

The first round series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Montreal Canadiens was more entertaining than anything I’ve seen on a football pitch for years.

It made for a lot of late nights and some bleary-eyed mornings, but it was well worth it. The margins were razor thin. Across seven games the score was either tied or within one goal for 98.5% of the time. A constant pressure cooker. Four games went to overtime. Aging superstars versus untested rookies. Two goalies playing out of their skin.

I doubt there are many hockey fans on here, but the playoffs are definitely worth checking out.

Watching Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes right now it's just started. Plus support Manchester Storm in the uk who for the 2026-2027 season are moving from Altrincham to the AO Arena!!!!!

Agree about Montreal v Tampa

These playoffs are going to kill me. So many late, late nights.

But another mesmerising series by the Canadiens and the Sabres. Tied at two games each; then Montreal spanks the Sabres in Buffalo to take the lead; then Buffalo spanks the Canadiens right back in Montreal to tie it up again. Game 7 and Montreal takes a 2 goal lead — and Buffalo comes back to tie it up. Again.

The Canadiens finally nicked it after 11 minutes of overtime.

Unreal.
