When I was a kid, I sent a letter to John asking him for a autograph. He sent me a signed photograph with my name on it. Top player and a great commentator.

The World Snooker Championships will never seem the same again without his voice and I'm sure there will be a wonderful tribute to him then, Snooks' post for me probably shows how most of us enjoyed snooker.
I'm sure we all send our thoughts and prayers to John's family and friends.

This just popped up on my Youtube feed. It actually brought back a lot of memories for me as I remember howling with laughter watching it with my Dad who was a massive snooker fan. He was very ill at the time and we lost him a few months later.
