RE: Leicester City FC
So Leicester City have really won a match and move out of the bottom 3. I'd love to say this is a corner turned, but Tottenham were poor with so many players missing and even them we rode our luck a little. We showed a lot of resolve to win this match, but going forward we're still going to struggle.

The end of an era. It almost seems like the end of the world. After 13 years Jamie Vardy is leaving Leicester City.

I could list all his achievements in football, but I'll settle for just one. He's the only player in history to have played in every round of the FA Cup.

Ruud van Nistelrooy may be leaving Leicester City in the coming days. Former Southampton haed coach Russell Martin is poised to replace him.

Lori's not going to be amused. 'Leicester City have been deducted 6 points immediately in the Championship, after the Premier League found them to be in breach of the Profit and Sustainability Rules for the 2023/24 season'

That puts them in the relegation zone.

^^ This is all too late for another club that should've taken their place during the season that this rule breach occurred. Retrospective punishment is the wrong method of dealing with these issues.

If the 6 point deduction had been applied to the 2023/24 season, it would have reduced Leicester City's points tally from 97 to 91. Leeds finished with 90 that season, so would still have been behind Leicester and still wouldn't have got promoted.

Incidentally, the overspend reported by Leeds that same season was more than 3 times that of Leicester. They avoided any punishment because the assessments are made over a 3 year rolling period and over 3 years they were OK. Leicester have effectively been punished for big losses in 2021/22 and 2022/23 (in which relegation occurred anyway).

If you take the 2023/24 season in isolation, Leicester were compliant with the rules, losing money but within what's allowed. Leeds on the other hand did have a reported overspend for that season.

^^ So Leeds didn't avoid punishment, they complied under the 3 year rule. The was not such thing as a one year rule.
i would suggest that the reason that a 6 point deduction was decided on was to avoid a scenario where another team could've been promoted instead.

RE: Leicester City FC
Your conspiracy theory about why it's 6 pts isn't necessary. Everton ended up with 6 pts when they were in breach and Notts Forest were told that their 6 pts was reduced to 4 pts because of how cooperative they were. So Leicester's 6 pts is fully consistent and fully in line with previous decisions. Since we're held not to have fully cooperated and that we submitted the accounts late, we couldn't expect to get the same reduced sentence that Forest got. Having said that, we're appealing the sentence anyway, so perhaps there's some hope, though since our treatment is consistent with previous cases I'm not feeling optimistic.

Leicester City have become so dreadful that it's embarrassing. I now think the points deduction should be increased to confirm relegation and put us out of our misery. The only thing that's consoling me right now is that many of our players (12) are out of contract at the end of the season and will be gone.
