That slideshow didn't look like a marketing exercise to me. It is hard to tell though, when a channel is so packed with promotions you half expect it to abandon the service itself and just start advertising the ads – "Just text AD to 69xxx and we do solemnly swear on Ofcom's life that you'll get an ad for something even more XXXplicit than you could possibly dream – guaranteed!!!"… However, I don't think even BS would repeat stills for that long for their own sake. My guess is that Paige probably needed to leave the bed for a moment, and they covered her excursion with a slide show rather than a live girl. The purpose of each slideshow was revealed to viewers in the first week of BS Xtra when they streamed all the phone shows live to vid boxes on one screen. Whilst the full screen transmissions used slide shows, the vid box streaming didn’t, so by channel flicking you could see whether the slides were purely for promotion or for other reasons.
