Following that high bar, Dench finds her dad was a 2xMilitary Cross winner, whose dodgy knee meant he missed the Somme. Then finds through a mother a tenuous link to famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe, and the court at Elsinore, the real Rosencrantz and Guildenstern & more.
Judi Dench: Shakespeare, My Family & Me
Possibly a belated sequel, as her early 17th century ancestor Anders Bille worked for his King, and came over to London in a diplomatic mission. So, could there be evidence that this guy met Shakespeare, let alone saw his plays? Antony & Cleopatra seemed to have the most direct result from the royal visit, and they probably met at Hampton Court.

Inside Africa: Photography - From Deserts to Dark Skies
A rapid half-hour from CNN which sped through half a dozen angles, from award-winning night-shots, to the preference for analog over digital works.

Tom Brook had a bullish go at predicting not only the major awards, but many of the minor ones too. He got some right.
TM - Oscars review special
Tom makes a quick return to consider who won and why, what little British joy there was, and an interview with one nominee who lost but who Tom clearly would have preferred to win (not least for saying he watched the show).

The Listening Post
Jean Kassir comes to the studio for a sitdown chat about a sitrep for Lebanon.

Global Public Square
FZ talks to Kim Ghattas about Lebanon also, and why people there aren't likely to welcome the bombs of freedom.

Late Night w/Seth Meyers
Daniel Radcliffe and Kate Mara were both good value, whilst Tessa Thompson, Steve Zahn and Mark Normand were much less familiar.

Last Week Tonight w/John Oliver
His main item was on police sting operations, which tend to catch stupid people who aren't in fact criminals, perhaps because the real ones require more money to catch.

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
He rages at the ongoing war on Iran. But then talks politely to Jake Sullivan as if things were all that different before.
