John Simpson has 3 goes at the Middle East, and yet does better when looking at latest stupid plans to return to the Moon. He also amusingly says it's the last in the series, though there'll be a new series next month - he could have just said it was an Easter break.
Unspun World
Back as promised/threatened, still yabbering on about the Middle East, but breaking off to consider whether Hungary will change that much now it's post-Orban, and whether that might be bad for Russia and also Israel.

The rise and fall of a theatre/cinema type place, opened before WW1, closed in the mid-1970s, and now being restored to full function.

1.7 Up to Portland (or Porkland as it gets dubbed briefly) to try Peruvian chicken and a porchetta sandwich, before the big challenge, which is a burrito containing 10 of the spiciest peppers. Only 2 have ever succeeded before. Casey does not join their number.
MvF
1.8 Still in the Norf, Casey heads across to Chicago for a deep dish pizza with a special cheesy crust, a triple pork sandwich, and then a challenge involving a 2lb bacon cheeseburger & 2lb of "irish" nacho fries, which he actually completes (though the telltale signs of many, many past successes suggested he ought to).

Building Visions: Auroville
Anupama Kundoo is the architect for this South Indian wonder-city, planned decades ago, but not yet coming up to scratch. Ferro-cement seems their whizz material remedy, though it reminded me of methods I wouldn't expect to last the course.

The archive chats with Macca and Mariah were of more interest than the modern day larks.

The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons talks first to Mohsen Milani (in Tampa) and Elisa Elvers (in DC) about the prospects for the Iran-US barney, and then later brings back Vali Nasr to also talk about much the same thing, but with an extra week of madness to digest.

4/6 The Garden of Earthly Delights
Bosch's famous triptych, which also has an impressive picture on its reverse. Despite his general fame, it sounds like Bosch is one of history's more mysterious painters.

5/6 The Birth of Venus
The first major painting of a nudey lady not to have a religious context. It only reached acclaim when historians felt that Botticelli was too big a name not to leave in obscurity.
