4-4 in first session was getting worried when it was 3-1 to tubbs but Higgins toughed it out to get back equal

Very early stages to get worried by scorelines really.
Seventeen frames is a long way away.
If one player wins a session 8-0 or 7-1 that would obviously be very damaging but something extreme would have to happen to allow for that. Both Murphy and Higgins struggled for consistent rhythm.
It was a head scratcher of a session riddled with errors. Not entirely surprising as opening sessions are often like that.

I can already hear the waffle on Saturday afternoon: "he was worn out from beating O'Sullivan and Robertson, and he's old, blah blah, oh and his opponent is a genius blah blah"

Wu-Allen is like an unofficial final

Wu Yize is like a beast mode computer player. Goes for every pot and gets it. Poor Mark Allen could be sat in his chair for long periods in this match if Wu keeps this up for much longer.

Nervy head scratcher of a match.
Plenty of mistakes. It's tight and tense.

What an absolutely unbelievable 14th frame between Wu Yize and Mark Allen.
100 minutes and it was utterly bonkers.
One of the most ridiculous frames ever.
And after all that play halted.
They resume tomorrow morning at 7-7 after a stirring fightback from Allen.

That 100 minute frame is the longest frame ever at the Crucible, superceding the 85 minute frame between Mark Selby and Yan Bingtao in 2022.

The record for the longest frame of all time happened in the 2017 World Championship qualifier between Fergal O'Brien and David Gilbert. It took Fergal 123 minutes to win the deciding frame to win 10-9 to get through to the Crucible stage.

I thought frame 10 at 65 minutes was one thing, but at least Allen knocked in the 2 centuries after that. Frame 14 (especially given Wu's amazing brown seemed like a natural end!) won't do anyone any favours. Perhaps in the morning session one of them will go berserk?!
