RE: World Snooker Championship 2026
Marco Fu was leading Liam Davies 9-5, but Liam Davies got back to 9-9 before Fu prevailed in a closely fought deciding frame. It's a blow for Liam as he falls off the tour. Fu has an invitational tour card like White and Doherty. so he can carry on playing professionally as long as he feels like it.

Bulcsu Revesz beat Louis Heathcote 10-8, but it's looking unlikely he'll be able to stay on the tour as Jordan Brown, who was ranked 64th, beat Ian Burns 10-9 on the final black, and pushed the bar for staying on the tour so far out of Revesz reach I would suspect he won't be able to make it.

Wins for Ishpreet and Chang Bingyu.

Round 3 is underway. Gao Yang got the upset, beating Tom Ford 10-8. Apart from that, the matches largely went with the higher seed with wins for Bingham, Zhou Yuelong, David Gilbert, and Hossein Vafaei putting an end to Michael Szubarczyk's progress, beating him 10-2 after leading 9-0 in the first session.

Hossein Vafaei will play Gao Yang on Judgement Day. David Gilbert will have a Judgement Day rematch with Aaron Hill. Last year on Judgement Day, Hill led Gilbert 7-3 and 9-7, but Gilbert snatched the match away from him 10-9.

Chang Bingyu made a 147 to take a 5-4 overnight lead over Luca Brecel. That's his 2nd in a triple crown event after the 147 he made at the UK Championship so Chang will get the £147K bonus prize. Luca is no danger of dropping off the tour just yet, win or lose.

Jiang Jun got the upset, beating Elliot Slessor 10-7. Liam Pullen beat Thepchaiya 10-7. Wins for Noppon and Jackson Page.

I'm more upset about Thepchaiya than Slessor Wink

Luca rallied and beat Chang Bingyu 10-8. Bulcsu Revesz lost 10-6 to Zhang Anda so he's off the tour. Sadly Julian LeClercq is also off the tour after losing to Carter. The bar for the tour is set now that 64th ranked Jordan Brown lost to Lei Peifan. The only player still playing for his tour card is Poland's Anton Kowalski. Kowalski beat Joe O'Connor 10-8, he needs to win 2 more matches and reach the last 16 to stay on the tour at Brown's expense.

Jak Jones beat Marco Fu 10-6. Jack Lisowski also won. Judgement Day starts tomorrow.

RE: World Snooker Championship 2026
Judgement Day One

Hossein Vafaei is the first player to reach the main draw after coming back from 1-4 down to beat Gao Yang 10-4.
Zhou Yuelong has seen off Michael Holt 10-4 to qualify for the first round proper.
The Matthew Stevens wait for a return to The Crucible is over after he battled past Stuart Bingham 10-7.
Antoni Kowalski has saved his place on the tour and qualified for the main event for the first time in overcoming Jamie Jones 10-8.
The Tamworth Massive will be in The Crucible once again as David Gilbert has beaten Aaron Hill 10-6.
19 year old Stan Moody has dashed out of hospital with tonsillitis and then beaten Jiang Jun 10-9 to reach The Crucible.
Presumably now will finish off his antibiotics before returning for his debut at the home of snooker.
Pang Junxu has fended off Jackson Page 10-8 to become the seventh qualifier.
Liam Pullen at just 20 years of age has produced a nerveless display to see off Noppon Saengkham 10-8 and reach the main draw for the first time.

And that's a wrap for Judgement Day 1. Plenty more drama to come tomorrow.
