An Orban loss would be a good start.

Even better if opposition leader Peter Magyar can claim the super majority by winning 133 seats and reverse a lot of the damaging reforms of the Orban era.

It was so far a landslide that Orban couldn't fix the result again.

But how could Orban possibly lose with support from Putin, Trump and Vance.

Campaign has already started to get Vance over here to campaign for Reform in the local elections as he's so good at election interference

Next hurdle is will he get a majority big enough to change the constitution ?

It will be interesting. As a former member of Fidesz, Magyar is pretty right wing himself the question is how authoritarian would he be if he were to secure that parliamentary supermajority ?

On the plus side, he needs EU money to make good on his election promises which would grease the wheels in the right direction, however a different PM doesn't change the realpolitik of Hungary's energy dependance on Russia & soaring energy prices because Putin turned off the tap after Hungary siding with EU would be a good way to start off his government badly.

If Magyar were to side with the EU would Fico go it alone on using the veto, or would he give in without his buddy Orban at his side ?

I have a Hungarian colleague he's been up and down on this. After yrs of Obran he is naturally sceptical, when Magyar first came to prominence he felt that because he was a former member of Fidesz, who's wife was a high ranking cabinet member, he was a stalking horse for Orban and he's also nervous that the power of a supermajority will make him like Orban.
