Fan got in a few times and led 52-17 before taking on a risky red to right middle and missing. Couple of difficult reds around the black which Murphy split open via the pink to carve out a match winning clearance. Excellent match and a very good break to clinch it in the end.

Poor Pullen never recovered from John Parrott comparing him to Moody as being stars of the future.

Dominant 10-2 win for Ronnie. He could have made a 147 in frame 11, but when the position became awkward when he was on 64 he played for the blue. The break eventually ended at 113, and Ronnie made another century in the next frame to kill off the match. He did make errors though, and I would expect John Higgins to punish his errors a bit more in the next round. Paul Scholes turned up to watch the final session, but only saw 3 frames. He can watch the Si Vs Vafaei match instead.

Vafaei (and possibly Pang) all that stands between a first Crucible clean sweep for the seeds.

Hossein Vafaei has ended the run of seed progression into round two.
He reeled off nine straight frames from 1-3 down to thrash Si Jiahui 10-3.

The way Vafaei had been playing towards the end of the season, I thought he might be a dark horse to win the World Championship. Is the world ready for a World Snooker Champion from Iran? Well, at least he won't have to sing the Iranian national anthem if he wins it. He's got a tough tie, against Judd Trump next. Not the first time the Iranian had to face Trump this season.
