I'm not keen on him, he gives me the creepy vibes.

I agree, he seems to have a permanent smug grin on his chops.
Was it Rifkind for the tories many years ago who earned that quote "he has something of the night about him"? Much the same with Streeting.

IF it happens, still not convinced myself, I wonder if there could be some behind the scenes manouvering. Rayner is the most visible credible alternative from the left with Burnham not eligible (not convinced by Rayner either, she seems more of a deputy, not a leader), but I don't know if she has the support to overcome Streeting. Another option would be for the left to push for another candidate to try take some of Streetings support. Mahmood could be a good option for that. Those two split their votes, leaving Rayner to sneak in.
They would have to play dirty as well, and point to Streetings Mandelson links to discredit him. With Rayner apparently being cleared of dodgy taxes, she is now free to play dirty without having that thrown back at her.

^ This. Also as some one mentioned before it's like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

They don't know why they're sinking and that's there main problem.

State of Political Parties in the UK is awful. Tories, Labour and Reform are all toxic in their own ways & Zak Polanski is doing his best single-handedly to ensure that The Greens join them.

We do as a country need to do something about newspapers and broadcast media because we have so much media bias now that the public are being deprived of the facts to make an informed choice. Almost wall to wall coverage of the slightest thing to bash the current government or Starmer over and yet hardly any coverage of Farage and his £5m "gift" nor yesterdays claim by Ben Habib that Johnson & Farage were each given £1m by Harborne to create the electoral pact that saw Farage stand his candidates down in certain constituencies.

The thought of Rayner walking into Number 10 and being told her first job is to issue new "Letters of Last Resort" to our 4 Ballistic Missile Sub Commanders should absolutely terrify anyone with an ounce of intelligence.

Streeting has resigned. Here we go then...

Wes Streeting resigns as health secretary to no surprise.

He want to be careful as a voting survey done by labour list and posted by Politics UK show that the labour voters will still support Starmer to Streeting by a 2/1 majority.

This was a poll over 1200 labour members.

Raynor, Burnham and Milliban all poll better than him.

Conspiracy theory time Wink

Streeting is least likely to beat Starmer, so he goes for it. Starmer beats him and is relatively safe in office long enough for Burnham to get elected to parliament.

Or.... they cooked something up between them at the meeting. Streeting challenges him. Starmer beats him, then in a spirit of reconciliation, gives Streeting Reeves' job.

Remember, you heard it here first ImportantCoollaugh
