Surely the 2 Skeleton guys are going to come through for Team GB

Seems almost a guarantee that one of them is going to medal and great chance both will.

1st runs tomorrow morning then the final 2 runs Friday evening

Let's hope the first 2 runs put them in a great position

We saw in the Women's luge that just 1 mistake can be costly where the 2 German women were neck and neck and well clear after the first 2 runs just for one of them to make a mistake early on the 3rd run and ended up finishing around 7th/8th after clawing some time back in the 4th run but that one slip saw a guarantee of a silver slip away

After the first run of the men's Skeleton Matt Weston leads by 6 hundredths of a second. Marcus Wyatt down in 7th place.

Under pressure from the Germans Matt Weston produced a superb second run to extend his time lead with a blistering track record. Wyatt is struggling and in 7th.

Let's hope tomorrow is even better. I think it wouldn't be impossible for Marcus to go close to medal.

I do feel for the Ukrainian who was banned, but I do wonder if he would have been still banned if he used a black ribbon on his outfit

Francesca Lollobrigida has done the double and won the women’s 5,000 meters in Long Track Speed Skating.

Bruce Mouat and his men have claimed a notable 6-3 win over defending Olympic champions Sweden in the round robin curling phase. Long way to go of course but two wins out of two represents a good start to the campaign.

good start by the men hoping the women are doing the same any potential banana skins for both teams?

I think short track speed skating relay is my new favourite sport.

When I was young, I was told, many times indeed, "answer the question set, not the question you wish had been set". He was told many times he couldn't use that helmet design, and he preferred to ignore it. I get that the IOC argument (where will this end? etc) seems nebulous but the same people who want one exception tend to be the same people kicking off when other exceptions work the other way.

I note that GB are currently level with Eritrea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Venezuela and Pakistan, among many others, who'd no doubt like to pull off a "special design" stunt like this

The GB women curlers succumbed to a poor 7-4 defeat by China in their opening round robin match. Too many errors on run backs and take outs in particular. A series of scoring chances were spurned in a rather uninspiring display.

The mens curling team lost a steal of 4 in the first end against Italy and hard as they tried to pull it back it proved too much in a 9-7 defeat.

Charlotte Bankes has qualified for the Snowboard Cross finals at 12:30pm.
