Just been officially confirmed that Lewis Hamilton has signed a new deal with Mercedes. It's a 3yr deal running till 2018

Lewis Hamilton in on pole. It could prove important as it's near impossible to pass on this circuit.

Difficult for Nico to be interviewed afterwards.
Glad Jenson got some points at last.

I thought both Nico and Lewis gave very good interviews to the BBC. Nico was very complimentary to Lewis and said how lucky he was to win. Lewis was very down but did not criticise his team (that will have taken place behind closed doors!) Niki Lauda though was scathing about the mistake.

As F1 is such a precession at the moment we need things like this to spice it up.

I was fortunate to see some fantastic live F1 today.

No, I wasn't amongst the idle rich in Monaco, I was at Brands Hatch watching the FIA Historic Formula 1 Championship plus assorted other races.

The sound of 20 Cosworth DFV V8 Engines just can't be beat.
