Nope. They are motivated by profit and gun owners who don't break the law will continue to be welcomed.

It's not the hotel at fault anyway, they don't do background checks on guests, stop and search them or stick bags through scanners and why should they. It's the gun laws in America at fault, as well as not enough checks in place on gun owners, they can claim amendment this or that, but until something changes, these horrible incidents will still happen. Nobody needs to own handguns, semi or fully automatic weapons anyway, rifles and shotguns are more than enough for sport shooting and hunting, you don't need a machine gun to take out a duck or deer

Well not unless they have evolved to have kevlar hides

Why would someone with several bags / cases raise any suspicions walking into the Mandalay Bay Hotel? People tend to do that sort of thing in hotels

He supposedly had 20 "guns" in the room. Assuming the majority were rifles (AR15 / AK-47 etc) you could strip them down, put them in suitcases and nobody would ever know unless they had a metal detector or x-ray machine at the entrance.

The 2nd amendment belongs to a different era. The arms they bore were single shot muskets and much of the country was largely lawless or populated by savages (in their eyes).

It's all about money now, though. The gun industry is huge and profitable, the 2nd amendment is just an excuse for it all.

I was so sad when I heard the news, I've been to Vegas many times and off again in a few weeks, it's one of my favourite cities in the world and somewhere I really connect with oddly. As with all my trips our party is due to be heading to a gun range for some fun. We've started to discuss today if that activity is something we want to be doing currently.

What has really got me pissed today though is the awakening of the 'Sandy Hook Was Faked' tin hat brigade. Political point scoring and fact spinning is one thing when horrendous acts like these are carried out anywhere in the world. But I don't think there is anything more disrespectful to those who were effected by the act, dead or alive, than some internet warrior making YouTube videos or entire podcasts on why the whole act was faked for some political gain. I know goverments do some henious shit but just leave it alone, let people deal with what's happened.
