The Official WWE Discussion Thread

With regards to Evolution I thought it was a pretty good PPV tbh with the best two matches being the Mae Young Classic Finale with Toni Storm & Io Shirai (particularly when Shirai hit the 619) & the NXT title match with Kairi Sane & Shayna Baszler.Every now & then WWE throws a curve ball as every insider predicted a Kairi Sane win & Baszler inevitably moving to Raw & challenge Ronda Rousey which now looks to be on the back burner.I do like the old Royal Rumble/Battle Royale matches but WWE time & time again go for the old predictable winner routine & should have thought outside the box & have a Zelina Vega or an NXT up & comer winning it.

Former TNA & WWE star Taryn Terrell touched on something on twitter that I'd agree with about the whole Evolution PPV being 'conveniently' positioned days before Crown Jewel as there won't be any female wrestlers featuring at the Jewel.

And with Crown Jewel days away they are reporting that John Cena has pulled out of the event leaving the 8 man tournament a body less with rumours suggesting Bobby Lashley (who is carrying an injury) might take his place.

Also drew mclntyre might be added to the universal title match so brock dont have to get pinned

thought it was a load a money but apparently wwe are making 2-3 million dollars profit on the show?

I heard thats what dave meltzer said but how would he know
was he in the meetings with vince and the saudi prince ?
he says a lot of shit and when his wrong he never admits it
wwe would not risk damaging their name after they have spent the last 10 years trying to build it up just for 2-3 million dollars it makes no sense

i agree with you its a joke for even going to a backwards country like that
it really has to be worth more than 2-3 million... even shawn michaels is coming out of retirement for it

If true i think something dodgy is at foot because it has been reported the deal for ten years is for half a billion dollars this whole thing sounds fishy

Not sure if this is true but based on that wwe might only be getting 3 million profit but all the wrestlers are getting millions too

A Few thoughts on the show
1-The nxt title match was MOTN for me
2-Toni storm has some serious booty going on
3-Nia jax as a smiley babeface don't look right
4-Ronda continues to impress

Has she only just worked that out? It was obvious weeks ago! I think it's a smart bit of counter-propaganda from WWE to do it (they might still have done it after the Ronda publicity even with no Saudi shows, but as a bit of checks & balances, it's a win for the ladies).
