I suspect this is what we witness when we see Elissia on Xpanded's Dayshow seemingly acting lazily. To the untrained eye many would assume she's not engaged in a phone conversation as not much is being said.

It must have all been the best part of an hour.
My explanation is that the caller was into being dominated in some way & Clara was in control. Seems a waste of a call to me will very little being spoken.
None of this was particularly helpful for other callers. I can't remember for certain whether they was any phone waggling but there was certainly the finger shown to indicate option one. No one would get anything out of listening to silence.
