Getting Old Is???

You start checking the obituaries every week, for your own name

That was a favourite of the Auld Man "It's not there, I'm good for another week"

Seriously though, I've just started buying the local paper to check the obituaries after nearly missing the funeral of a very good friend of his
Usual method of word of mouth nearly failed this time, for some reason.

Our local BBC thing, Northwest Tonight, celebrated its 40th anniversary this evening, with a 5 minute special including a chat with former presenter Gordon Burns, who looks old.

Also on the MOTD@60 prog, Des Lynam looks pretty ancient now.

When an 18 year old co-worker has never heard of plastic lids with a letter printed on them on Smarties tubes.

Being reminded of Ceefax and still being able to remember what all the page numbers related to.

You'll know you're really old when you start trying to find page 888 before you remember it shut down years ago

To me Ceefax was far better for seeing your football results than getting the sunday paper

Getting old is

Standing up straight first thing in the morning and see if you can still see your feet over your belly
