Why are they sitting past 10pm anyway this is a bill that is literally life and death so should be at times when most people are fully alert and attentive not 10pm at night

Seeing as the government are so keen for everyone to make efficiency savings maybe we should consider the benefits to the tax payer of cost savings for MPs.

Things like moving Parliament to a cheaper to run location in the middle of the country like errr ah yes......... Wolverhampton .
And MPs could reside in their own basic halls of residence like students do . They could get a basic food allowance and signposted to food banks if they run out . And rather than run surgeries in their own constituency they could do them all virtually by video call or by phone saving money on operational costs and thereby removing costs for security at constituency office locations.

Once politicians get into government office they seem to lose any conception as to how ordinary people actually live. Especially serving Prime Ministers and to a similar extent Chancellors. All about win votes and then screw the electorate over afterwards.

I've noticed as soon as folk stop being PM they start talking a whole lot more sense than they ever did when they were PM and develop a little more compassion. Pressure off, can say what they like. Greasy pole climbed and relinquished but for what?
