The Thai Phoon is standing as a candidate to be an MP in Thailand's February elections. He will be representing the Chart Thai Pattana Party, Thailand's hard right, ultra Conservative party.

Chris Wakelin made his first 147 in a professional tournament when he beat Pang Junxu 3-2 in the first stage of the invitational Championship League. He got to the playoffs semi-final but lost to Jackson Page. Tom Ford beat Page 3-1 in the final.

Elliot Slessor won group 2 of the Championship League. Si Jiahui won group 3. Matthew Selt won group 4, beating Neil Robertson in the playoff final.

The tournament resumes with group 5 on 19th January, to make way for the Masters.
