Following last year's big series on 90s Boybands, BBC2 shows the first 2 parts of a similar look at UK Girl groups, eg All Saints, Spice Girls, you know the sort, tonight, after a repeat of a TOTP2 on the same theme.

Pt 3 is tonight, with concerts of All Saints and Sugababes to follow, also the Spice Girls.

SA go into more of a 2-Tone type direction from 8 with Madness and the Specials and then Pauline Black.

SA have a new chat with Mark Knopfler at 9, followed by a Dire Straits concert afterwards.

Or you might prefer a Kim Wilde compilation on BBC2 instead.

SA have a new 3-part series over the weekend; tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. Tonight's one Greatest Basslines seems to include Mani, in presumably one of his final jobs. Peter Hook presenting, or whatever.

Very entertaining stuff, dozens of contributors, much respect paid.

Tonight, Sky Arts offer a quirkiness double-bill with Nick Cave and then Bjork, from 9pm.

The Bjork show is on again tonight, after a Gary Numan doc, which is after a big Pet Shop Boys concert from 9pm, all on SA.

BBC4 trying to whizz through the dregs of 1998 on TOTP before giving over to repeats of Christmas TOTPs.

Paul Young getting his turn for a compilation on BBC2; though I'm still irate at the over-use of videos in these things, I do welcome the chance of the chosen act to discuss some of the shows.
