The shocks of the previous round haven't really been followed along on. Well, depending on whether you feel Zhang beating Zhao is all that shocking.

Zhao was making so many unforced errors, his name just wasn't on this tournament. Zhang night fancy it though.

Ding always seems to do well in the Uk Champs, however, sadly, so does Hawkins, and he whitewashed Slessor 6-0. Things got from bad to worse when Tubbs came back from 5-3 down to beat Higgins 6-5.

Barry Hawkins vs Mark Selby
Shaun Murphy vs Zhang Anda

I've put an accumulator bet on Trump, Robertson and Selby to all win.
That should ensure they all lose

When Higgins went 5-3 up, the pundits were all "this shows Higgins' ability etc" and I just suspected that wouldn't be the end of it.

Impressive turnaround from Trump after a strong Ding start, and good to see Pang trying a fightback before succumbing to the inevitable.

Much as Tubs winning on Sunday is also seeming increasingly inevitable, alas.

Fantastic 6-2 win for Selby over Hawkins! I thought a Hawkins v Tubbs semi was inevitable, but Selby has prevented that from happening. Now Selby has to beat Tubbs and get to the final.

I just basically bet on results I don't want to happen so that I get financial compensation when they do .

Bet on England to lose the test match and Wolves to lose on Monday too.
More certain money heading my way .

I should just compile a list of all the things I least want to happen in the next 7 days and then put an accumulator bet on them all happening.

I wasn't too surprised (especially when Selby kept getting further in front ) because I see Selby & Murphy as two guys with "form" / "bad blood" from past encounters.

Both semis might well go the distance.
