Zhao putting Ding in his place. I complain about Ding's disdain for the HN events, but I expect Zhao's track record isn't much better, so maybe that argument isn't as great as I thought. He'll have his work cut out next time, and that's just the pundits.

Vafaei really gave it a good go this afternoon.

Wu Yize reminds me too much of Stan Laurel, sorry.

Vafaei playing Trump as though they're of equal talent

It's been a bad day for the English. Higgins came back and beat Ronnie, Selby also got beat and Judd Trumps' really struggling in his match.

The changed the baize last night, and Higgins said that it helped him today.

A sensational victory for Hossein Vafaei sealed with two superb breaks from 11-12 down. What a stirring performance from the Prince of Persia. Well played Sir.

I wonder how many people wanted Vafaei to win just because he's Iranian and his opponent is called Trump. Anyway, my dark horse is still in it.

Wu Yize is another dark horse. It's his breakthrough year into the top 16, and he's made top players fear him this season with his fluency and the way he's been coming back at them when he's been behind.

Zhao Xintong has Tubbs next. It would be the wrong time for the Crucible curse to hit. I hope it waits for at least one more round.

From the way Ronnie played in the first round, I knew that Higgins would punish him for his errors, and Higgins was like granite!

I'm really looking forward to the quarter finals.
