1.8 Still in the Norf, Casey heads across to Chicago for a deep dish pizza with a special cheesy crust, a triple pork sandwich, and then a challenge involving a 2lb bacon cheeseburger & 2lb of "irish" nacho fries, which he actually completes (though the telltale signs of many, many past successes suggested he ought to).
MvF
1.9 Down to Des Moines to try "asian fusion" pizzas, a 9in pork tenderloin sandwich, and a challenge with mega-mega spicy pulled pork sandwich which is as much about endurance as pain, and which he completes successfully.

5/6 The Birth of Venus
The first major painting of a nudey lady not to have a religious context. It only reached acclaim when historians felt that Botticelli was too big a name not to leave in obscurity.
BtB
6/6 The Last Supper
Designed as one of a pair, specifically for a monks' canteen, its proximity to kitchens meant it started to deteriorate quicker than expected.

A fun little series overall.

Lioness series 1.

Story centred on a CIA black ops unit (more special forces than shadowy men in suits) starring Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman.
Hard to say how true to life the portrayal is, but the scenes in the finale from the Situation Room in the Whitehouse, with Morgan Freeman adding some gravitas as the Secretary of State, was spoilt somewhat by not being able to get Trump and Hegseth out of my head Rolleyesbladewave

Global Public Square
Not for the first time, FZ gets interesting when he moves past predictable politics, and in this case starts wondering about the risks of AI.

Last Week Tonight, w/John Oliver
A main feature on AI chatbots; why people mistakenly treat them like friends, why their creators are so lax about guard-rails, and what malign results ensue.

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
Rightly cynical about the shooting on Saturday night, his guest is Jodi Kantor, though he largely skips her book to instead discuss her research into the Supreme Court, and particularly the Shadow Docket.

Brad Pitt - More Than a Pretty Face
Born in Oklahoma, raised in Missouri, moved to LA, and then spent 30+ years trying to prove that handsome men can be leading men AND character actors.

Unspun World
Seems to favour longer discussion of fewer topics this "series". Nice to have any chat about the Palestinian elections, a topic otherwise completely absent from similar shows.
