Deathtrap

1980s gem of a slow burn thriller starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve and Dyan Cannon.

The film of a two-act play and it feels like watching a play. It almost all takes place in single, well-dressed living room set. Aside from a few ‘scare’ moments, it’s light on action and heavy on Mamet-esque dialogue, but it has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing who’s gonna come out on top in the final minute.

Project Hail Mary. A very, very good adaptation of Andy Weir's 2021 book (he also wrote The Martian) which sees Ryan Gosling making friends with a Space Rock....Gosling normally bores me senseless but he was absolutely the right Actor for this.

That's all the details you're getting. Go and watch it, it's really good but as per usual the book is much better.

9/10.

Send Help (2026)

Two people are stranded on a desert island....that's basically the story Rolleyes but I did find this quite entertaining. Rachel McAdams is great! I found this something I enjoyed but would forget about as soon as the credits rolled, there's humour, gore, a couple of twists. I'd give it 7/10.

Down Periscope...
"TV's 'Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer plays an unorthodox, maverick skipper who is ordered to take part in a naval war game with an antiquated submarine and a misfit crew. He does so on the understanding that if he succeeds in firing off his sub's missiles he will get to command his own vessel, little knowing that one of the admirals in charge of the game is determined to stop him."

It's 30 years old now Surprised , but a good little, underrated comedy.

Mortal Kombat II

A fantastic sequel to Mortal Kombat (2021) with very bloody, very gory & very violent fight sequences throughout. It looks amazing as well & has to be seen on the biggest screen possible. The ending does set up a 3rd film if one is greenlit

Karl Urban is fantastic as Johnny Cage and several times had me laughing out loud from his fantastic one liners laughlaughlaughlaugh Adeline Rudolph is also fantastic as Princess Kitana

9/10

The longest yard 2005
Not quite the first version with the icon burt Reynolds yet he does appear for most of the film
Along with Adam Sandler Goldberg Chris rock nelly the great khali Kevin Nash stone cold Steve Austin
Only downside was seeing Courtney Cox for the first 5 minutes especially in a gorgeous pink dress

Rumours still flying about if they'll be doing another one

Lovely cali garcia may have left but loving caty cole v2 Beth jess and atlanta
