I did wonder if Streeting had said this to make things awkward for Burnham since Makerfield is a heavy leave seat. Still it is interesting to see that a candidate to be PM feels there is the political space to do so, add to the fact that The Greens are in favor if Rejoin & The Lib Dems are in favor of a customs union it shows that much closer relationship is now the political gravity on "the left".

Streeting's not speaking to the same electorate as Burnham, though. He won't have to face them for another 3 years.

John Healey resigns over Starmer's Defence spending plans. He's one of the few competent Ministers we have at the moment, with any luck he'll run for leader.
