RE: Eurovision 2026
It finishes late. Very late for most of Europe.

Are the times for a US audience.

Australia winning would be funny.

It would be easier to enjoy if not for the whole "competition" rubbish. I know that's a contradiction in terms.

RE: Eurovision 2026
I had to go out shopping after 17:00, arrived back home shortly after 21:00, switched on tv, and after some channel-hopping, including Andy Burnham on ITV News, and Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening on ITV Quiz, I turned back to Eurovision, just before the UK entry started.

It was a great performance, and whoever among the songwriters, including the guy himself, thought of a partly German chorus, wasn't being merely perverse, with it's actually being staged in a German-speaking country.
Unlike many UK entries, historically, it's a certain kind of very 'traditionally' continental Eurovision song, sound wise, which ironically, makes it rather unlike the more typical types of entry, in recent times.

I was surprised to find that 2023 was the only previous year that I've posted about Eurovision.
I wrote interlinked and adjacent posts: https://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.p...pid2783998 including a potted history of the music industry, via Eurovision.

Before I left the house earlier, I did switch YouView to BBC 1 HD, so I've just used live rewind to go back two hours, to just a few minutes into the show.
It seems shorter this year so far.
Maybe the semi-finals has made the final shorter, if only for the first time.

I didn't quite catch what was being said about Eurovision in Asia, Bangkok specifically, but with the established participation of Australia, following the expansion into Eastern Europe, it could be the Eurasian Pacific Contest, eventually....

My pre-existing signature had disappeared, when I logged back in for the first time this year?! Yet more confirmation for my having near-enough given up on this place.. *

I'm back in my original seducedx6 account on Twitter('x'), alongside my compadres in 3 the hard way tag team, midriffique_one and airbag_generate.

This post seems to be more pertinent...

*There's a Twitter thread for that...

I'm surprised this is the only time that Gloria del Piero has appeared on this site.. https://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.p...pid2984276

Very surprised they are 2nd favourites as they have never done anything.

But, as was explained in the final, it does not mean that the UK did not get any public votes at all. It means that the UK could have been in 11th place across umpteen countries, but that does not earn the UK any points on the board. And as for the jury vote, getting 1 point amongst the national juries is a poor showing, given that in the past few years the UK has done reasonably well with the national juries. It strikes me that we (the UK) have not learned the right lessons from what Sam Ryder achieved 4 years ago (finishing in second place overall and winning the jury vote)?
