T20 Blast

The Championship takes a break for 3 weeks of Blast, with the group stages deduced to 12 matches from 14. Half of those games will be played in this period.

I hadn't realised Moeen Ali had signed for Yorkshire for the T20 Blast.
Good luck to him.

He was excellent for Worcestershire and had a real astute tactical brain for T20.

Mo had retired, but he's a mate of Bairstow who played a big part in signing for Yorkshire.
A good win tonight for Yorkshire at Trent Bridge, a weakened side through injury & availability, both 1st choice overseas signings replaced by a Pakistani pair who will miss the 1st couple of games.
Despite 3 dropped catches Yorkshire fielded well & restricted Notts to a below par 167-7.
in reply Lyth & Luxton went cheaply before Bairstow 83 no & Wharton 55 added a 3rd wicket partnership of 144, a record against Notts.
Yorkshire secured a comfortable 7 wicket win with 21 ball remaining.
Mooen bowled a tidy 3 over spell conceding just 19 runs, & made 6 not out. he put down a difficult caught & bowled chance, but he was clearly captain Bairstow's righthand man in the field in constant communication, it's a tough gig as captain & keeper Mo will take the pressure off.

Yorkshire set Lancashire a target of 214 at Headingley tonight, Lancashire could only manage half that total, 107 all out in 14.3 overs.
