Congratulations to Panchaya Channoi, the Thai, 18 year old, sensation of Womens Snooker, for winning the Womens World Snooker Championship. Panchaya did it the hard way, beating Bai Yulu 4-3 in the Quarters, Mink Nutcharut 5-3 in the Semis, and Reanne Evans 6-2 in the final. Panchaya now gets a 2 year tour card to the WST tour.

Bai Yulu gets her tour card renewed for another 2 years, as she is Womens World no.1. Subject to confirmation, Mink is off the tour to make way for Panchaya.

Ronnie O'Sullivan followed up his victory at the World Seniors by winning the invitational Snooker 900 tournament. He beat Luca Brecel 10-5 in the final.

In Q School Europe 1, Welshman Liam Davies, Hong Kong's Ka Wai Cheung and Sean O'Sullivan (no relation to Ronnie) all won their part of the draw, and get their tour cards renewed for another 2 seasons. The 4th player to get awarded a 2 year tour card is Englishman Phil O'Kane (no relation to Dean).

The likes of Tony Knowles, Dean Reynolds, Robert Milkins, and Bulcsu Revesc will have to try again in Q School Europe 2, starting from tomorrow.

Chinaman Gong Chenzhi regained his tour card at Q School Europe 2, but he did it the hard way, disposing of Bulcsu Revesz and Robert Milkins en route.

Stuart Carrington prevented an Israeli from becoming a professional when he beat Yaron Bodor 4-1 to regain his tour card.

Mitchell Mann regained his tour card, beating Allan Taylor 4-2.

The final player to regain his tour card in this year's Q School Europe was Andrew Higginson, who beat Mark Joyce 4-1.

Higginson mildly more interesting than Mann or Carrington.

Ken Doherty has announced his retirement from professional snooker.
