Daveigh Chase (1990 - 2026) - RIP

Waking up to some incredibly tragic news today. Former child star and actress Daveigh Chase has sadly passed away at the young age of 35.

Reports have confirmed that she passed away on Tuesday, June 16th, following a sudden and severe battle with meningitis and subsequent blood infections.

For many of us who grew up in the early 2000s, Daveigh was a constant fixture on our screens. At just 12 years old, she pulled off one of the most unique dual feats in Hollywood history—simultaneously voicing one of Disney's most beloved, heartwarming heroes and portraying one of modern horror's most terrifying villains.

Lilo Pelekai in Disney's Lilo & Stitch (Voice).

Samara Morgan in The Ring (Winner of the 2003 MTV Movie Award for Best Villain).

Samantha Darko in the cult classic Donnie Darko & S. Darko Chihiro Ogino in the English dub of Studio Ghibli’s Academy Award-winning Spirited Away.

Rhonda Volmer in HBO's critically acclaimed series Big Love.

She also made memorable guest appearances on shows like Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed, ER, and CSI.

It’s heartbreaking to hear she faced so many heavy personal and physical struggles behind the scenes in recent years, but her incredible voice work and on-screen performances will remain cultural touchstones for generations.
