Burt Reynolds, Star of ‘Deliverance,’ ‘Smokey and the Bandit,’ Dies at 82

Its been reported that the actor Burt Reynolds has died this evening from a suspected heart attack. A vastly underrated actor he starred in some of my favourite movies, Smokey and the bandit, Mean Machine, Cannonball Run and Sharkys Machine were great entertainment. He was also unjustly overlooked by the academy when it came to the oscars, despite being nominated twice he never managed to win one but should certainly have won for Boogie Nights.

Loved him in Smokey and the bandit and the Cannonball Run films .

Not just a legend of Hollywood, also an icon. Excellent roles in films such as Deliverance, The Longest Yard, Smokey & The Bandit and Boogie Nights, aswell as in tv show Gunsmoke.

That is a surprise. I remember him from a comedy programme called Evening Shade and he proved he can do comedy in the Smokey and the Bandit films but also sitcom comedy in that programme, but by far and away the funniest stuff he did were actually the outtakes from the Cannonball Run films - he and Dom De Louise just make each other laugh so much and it is side-splitting to see them interract. I think he was also featured in a magazine naked-the first to do that?
RIP Burt you were a one-off.
